Test trenching was carried out on a site proposed for development of 2 dormer dwellings at Kilnavara, Co. Cavan. The site is immediately north of CV025-075, a rath. Trenches 1-3 measured 20m x 2m, and were excavated to the top of the subsoil. They were located where it was proposed to erect the 2 houses and the entrance driveway. No material of an archaeological nature was observed in the trenches. Trench 4 measured 15m x 2m, Trench 5 10m x 2m. Trenches 4 and 5 ran at right angles to one another, and tested the southern edge of the site, closest to the monument. They were excavated to the top of the subsoil. No material of an archaeological nature was observed in the trenches.
