Testing was undertaken between 30 July – 1 August 2014 at Ferris Point in the townland of Ballylumford, Island Magee, Co. Antrim.
Six 2m-wide test trenches, totalling 500m² were excavated by a 360° track machine to evaluate the site. A small number of linear and sub-circular features of archaeological potential were identified. None of these features proved to be of archaeological significance. A total of 84 flint artefacts (blades, scrapers and flakes) were recovered from the six test trenches, all from the topsoil and some having been recovered during sieving of the topsoil.
