A large area of land east-south-east of Dunhill village, on either side of the Ann Valley Stream, was tested in January 2009 in advance of a proposed development with an associated integrated constructed wetland unit (ICWU), to dispose of waste in an environmentally viable way. The development does not impinge on any known monuments. Eighteen trenches were excavated, twelve in the areas to be disturbed by the building of the houses, and six in the wetland area in which the ICWU is to be situated. No archaeological finds or features were exposed during the testing.
