Testing was undertaken pursuant to granted planning permission to construct a dwelling house and carry out associated site works in the townland of Drum or Warren, just outside Boyle, Co. Roscommon. The site is within the confines of a field system. The house site is located on a ridge.
Five trenches were opened on the site, none of which revealed any features of archaeological provenance. Bedrock was relatively close to the surface, 20–400mm below ground level. Testing confirmed the natural provenance of the ridge.
