Excavation for the purpose of relaying a sewer pipe along the southern side of Church Hill Street, Wicklow, involved ground disturbance to a depth of c. 1m and width of 0.5m. As the development was within the area of archaeological potential for the town archaeological monitoring was carried.

Monitoring of c. 180m north-west/south-east revealed a made-ground layer associated with the road construction, sealing a mid-orange, silty, clay natural. A c. 0.5m-wide stone drain of probable post-medieval date was the only feature recorded, while finds from the made-ground layer include modern pottery.
