Archaeological monitoring of soil-stripping in advance of a proposed dwelling-house development was undertaken in August 1996. The site is located within an area of archaeological potential which is classified as a habitation site on the SMR for County Kildare.
Topsoil with an average depth of 0.25m overlay the natural subsoil. Four sherds of post-medieval/modern pottery types were recovered from the topsoil: one brownware sherd, one creamware sherd, and two fitting pearlware sherds. No features or deposits of archaeological significance were encountered.
