The site at Clonburris Little, Clonburris Great, Kilmahuddrick, Grange, Adamstown, Co. Dublin was subject to test trenching with the use of metal detector. The work was carried out in relation to Clonburris Strategic Development Zone Planning Scheme; Infrastructure Stages 3 (Griffeen Valley Park Extension), 4 (Grand Canal Park) and 5 (Na Cluainte Park South).
Seventeen test trenches were excavated. In total, 922 linear meters of 1.8m wide trenches were excavated across the site to a depth of 0.3-0.6m, exposing natural. Natural exposed varied between brown and grey/brown stony boulder clay, in places stony and with shattered shale, recorded in the west portion of the site; with a creamy brown coloured sticky boulder clay with pockets of grey brown stony natural and rock at the east end of the site.
The work is now complete. No features of archaeological significance were exposed.
