Test-trenching ahead of the construction of a new house 120m from the Ballynageeragh Dolmen found no funerary or settlement remains. A small shallow hollow with charcoal in its fill may be associated with scrub clearance, perhaps when the land was enclosed in recent centuries, perhaps earlier. No slighted field boundaries were found and no finds were recovered.
