It is proposed to construct a residential development at Main Street, Caledon, Co. Tyrone. Test-trenching was conducted on 3–4 February 2005. Nine test-trenches were excavated. The excavated remains indicate a limited amount of activity comprising a series of ditches and pits, which may be ceramically dated to the early 17th–19th century. It is possible that the ditches represented some form of boundary, one of which was possibly part of a large enclosure centred on the site of the existing St John’s Church.

Editor’s note: Although this licence was issued during 2005, the report on the work was not received in time for inclusion in the bulletin of that year.
